Season 2 will have six episodes, down from eight in Season 1. This was stated in the initial renewal/production notices and repeated in coverage by industry press.
New Arrivals and Returning Cast
The core cast returns: Kate Box (Dulcie Collins), Madeleine Sami (Eddie Redcliffe), Nina Oyama (Abby Matsuda) and Alicia Gardiner (Cath York) are all confirmed to be back.
The second season also brings multiple new cast members. Notably, Luke Hemsworth is joining the cast and has been reported to play Jason Wade, a crocodile-wrangling, Territory-style TV personality / wildlife park owner. Several trade outlets and cast listings confirm his addition.

Season 1 was set in a small Tasmanian town. Season 2 moves the action to Australia’s Top End — Darwin and surrounding Territory locations — tying back to Eddie’s past in the north.
The official production notes and local press describe the season as leaning into the Territory’s landscapes and culture, with a storyline that opens with the investigation into the death of Eddie’s former partner (“Bushy”) and the discovery of other high-profile local deaths.
Expect a warmer, “Top End” backdrop rather than Tasmania’s cold mist.
Release date status — what we know (and don’t)
Prime Video has not given an exact release date. Industry listings like JustWatch and official press say Season 2 will land on Prime Video in 2026, but no month or day has been confirmed. That means we’re waiting on Prime Video for the final schedule and any trailer/marketing dates.
Filming is wrapped and the show is in post-production, but post work (editing, sound, final color, possible VFX) can still take several months — which is why Prime has not publicly pinned an air date yet.
